Puppy Development Options
At Promised Love, our puppies are raised with intention from the very beginning.
For families who want a more guided and structured transition, we offer extended development options through Promised Love Canine Academy—allowing each puppy additional time to build confidence, clarity, and real-world readiness before going home.
Puppy Investment
All puppies are $4,500 and go home at 8 weeks of age.
This includes their early development, foundational training, and lifetime breeder support.
For families who want additional support and training, extended development options are available below.
8 Weeks Placement (Go Home)
By the time puppies go home, they’ve already had a strong start—not just physically, but emotionally and environmentally as well. They’re raised right alongside us in our daily routine, learning from real life as it happens.
From early on, they’re exposed to normal household activity—vacuuming, movement, different surfaces, sounds, and interactions—so nothing feels overwhelming as they grow. I begin guiding them toward potty habits through routine and consistency, and I start introducing simple communication tools like door bells.
This stage isn’t about perfection—it’s about exposure, confidence, and understanding. The goal is to give each puppy a foundation they can build on, so when they leave here, they’re ready to continue learning with their new family.
Available Development Options
Each puppy begins with a strong, thoughtfully structured foundation.
For families who want a more guided and extended transition, the following options provide additional time, structure, and individualized development before going home.
10 Week Foundations Program
(2-week extension)
$1,500 (in addition to base puppy price)
This stage builds on the critical early socialization period, where puppies are most receptive to learning and forming lasting impressions.
During this time, we begin building consistency in the foundations introduced earlier—helping puppies move from exposure into understanding, consistency, and response.
What Your Puppy Will Experience:
• Crate introduction with a focus on comfort and confidence
• Potty training development with a focus on consistency, communication cues (including door bells), and growing independence
• Name recognition and engagement with people
• Early focus and attention skills
• Positive exposure to new environments, surfaces, and experiences
• Structured daily rhythm to support clarity and learning
During this phase, we intentionally guide puppies through early learning experiences that help prevent future behavioral challenges while strengthening their ability to adapt and respond.
12 Week Development Program
(4-week extension)
$2,500 (in addition to base puppy price)
Our most comprehensive early development option, designed to give puppies a confident and structured start.
As puppies move beyond the initial socialization window, we continue building on their foundation by introducing more real-world experiences while maintaining clarity, confidence, and connection.
Expanded Development Includes:
• Leash introduction and guided walking
• Confidence building through new environments and mild challenges
• Continued environmental exposure with positive reinforcement
• Calm behavior shaping and emotional regulation
• Beginning obedience foundations through engagement-based training
This stage supports puppies as they transition from early learning into more structured understanding—helping them remain thoughtful, adaptable, and connected as they grow, while developing greater reliability, confidence, and clarity in their responses and behavior.
Returning Promised Love Families
Families returning to Promised Love for another puppy may receive a $500 loyalty credit toward one of the extended puppy development programs. It means so much to have families come back to us again, and this is one small way I can continue supporting the relationship and foundation we’ve already built together.
Our Approach to Early Development
The early weeks of a puppy’s life are a critical window for learning, development, and emotional growth. During this time, puppies are constantly forming associations with the world around them.
At Promised Love, we focus on thoughtful, positive exposure and relationship-based training from the very beginning.
Through gentle handling, structured routines, and carefully introduced experiences, each puppy is guided to build confidence, engagement, and stability.
Rather than rushing behaviors, we prioritize creating a clear and supportive foundation—helping each puppy learn how to think, adapt, and connect in a way that carries into their future home.
Program Structure
Because of the individualized nature of our program, we intentionally accept a limited number of puppies at a time—typically 1–2—to ensure each puppy receives focused attention and intentional development.
Extended Development
In select cases, puppies may remain in our program beyond 12 weeks for continued development. This is offered on a limited, case-by-case basis depending on the individual puppy and family goals.
Future Pathways
In very select situations, we may continue working with a puppy demonstrating strong potential for advanced roles such as therapy or service work. These opportunities are limited and considered individually.
