OUR STORY
Living the Golden Life
A journey shaped by love, loss, and a lifelong devotion to Golden Retrievers.
At Promised Love Golden Retrievers, our purpose is simple and unwavering: to raise dogs who enrich lives, strengthen families, and bring lasting joy.
What dogs give to us so freely is something I’ve always felt responsible to give back—through care, stewardship, and a lifelong commitment to them.
Dogs have shaped my life in ways words can barely express. From the earliest days, their loyalty, empathy, and quiet understanding have been my greatest teachers. I believe I’ve been blessed with the ability to cherish them, learn from them, and share the joy of dogs with others. That calling is the heart of Promised Love.
The dogs who shaped this program were never just dogs — they are family.

Where It Began
My love for Golden Retrievers began in 1997 with our first, Sampson. But truthfully, it started long before that—I’ve never known life without a dog by my side.
In 2010, we faced the heartbreaking loss of four of our beloved dogs—Shasta, Sampson, Chloe, and Skippy—all to old age. That season of grief forced me to reflect deeply on what those lives meant to our family, and what I wanted to carry forward.
After a year of reflection, one truth remained clear: Sampson had forever changed my understanding of what it means to love a Golden Retriever. He wasn’t just a dog—he was my companion for thirteen years, a steady presence, and a true gentleman. He wasn’t just part of our home—he was part of who we were.
From that love and loss, Promised Love was born.
This marked the beginning of a dream. Puppies had always been my passion, and though I had never pursued breeding before, I knew I wanted to share this journey with others—thoughtfully, responsibly, and with heart.

What Makes Promised Love Different
Our program is built on health, temperament, and meaningful relationships. I don’t raise puppies simply to place them—I raise them to become emotionally sound, physically healthy, and deeply connected companions.
From the very beginning, each puppy is introduced to a world full of real-life experiences—movement, sound, texture, scent, and environment. But it doesn’t stop at exposure. I focus on teaching them how to settle, how to engage, and how to move through the world with confidence—especially through their natural instincts like scent.
Calm confidence matters just as much as physical activity.
This foundation begins early—around three weeks of age—and continues until each puppy goes home. My goal isn’t just well-behaved dogs, but emotionally resilient, confident, and adaptable companions who are truly prepared for life.
A Family Commitment
My husband and I, alongside our Golden Retrievers, have built a home where dogs are not just raised—they are lived with, loved, and truly known.
Our family is involved in every part of the program, so each puppy receives the attention, socialization, and care they deserve from the very beginning.
Whether it’s walking together, relaxing on the couch, training, or raising a litter, these dogs are part of our everyday life.
They aren’t projects.
They’re family.
Responsibility Without Expiration
We are deeply committed to you, your puppy, and your future together. Every puppy raised in our home is a life we stand behind—physically, emotionally, and ethically.
We believe in thoughtful placement, not convenience. In guidance, not transactions. In presence, not distance. If a family can no longer keep one of our dogs, that dog will always have a place with us. That is not an exception to our philosophy—it is the foundation of it.
For me, this has never been about producing puppies.
It is about stewardship.
It is about accountability.
It is about lifelong advocacy.
For Families Who Share These Values
Promised Love is not for everyone—and that is by design.
We work with families who understand that a dog is a lifetime commitment, who value integrity over convenience, and who are looking for a true partnership—not just a puppy to take home.
When you join the Promised Love family, you’re not simply bringing a dog home—you’re stepping into a relationship built on trust, purpose, and shared responsibility.
Our Promise
At Promised Love, every dog is a promise.
A promise of care that does not end when circumstances change.
A promise of advocacy, stability, and protection for life.
A promise that when we bring a life into this world, we do not walk away.
This is not just what we do.
It is who we are.
If this feels like the kind of place you’ve been looking for, I’d love for you to learn more about our dogs and the families who become part of Promised Love.
These are the dogs who carry this promise forward.
